- Produce events from the preplanning stages to post-analysis and ensure that all delivering events exceed expectations within time frames and budget
- Acts as liaison between field sales person and customer throughout the event process (pre-event, event, post-event).
- Ability in generating ideas for events, finding and securing the venue, planning and coordinating the catering, entertainment and ambiance, as well as arranging transportation, lodging and other guest hospitalities.
- Prepare event budgets to maximize company's revenue and meet customer needs and expectation and Up-sells products and services throughout the event process
- Managing operational and administrative functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently and being responsible for all project budgets from start to finish
- Ability in troubleshooting any problems that arise, hiring and supervising support staff, keeping the customers apprised of event progress, and the marketing and promotion of events.
- Able to generate reports and an analysis to identify challenges associated with his/her group and works with the property staff and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.
- Travelling to venue visits and on-the-day management of event, including overnight stay when required
- Maintaining and developing client and supplier relationships
- Researching venues, suppliers and contractors, negotiating prices and hire
- Managing all pre-event planning, e.g. organizing speakers and delegate packs
- Undertaking event marketing and liaising with sales and marketing teams to promote and sell the events

- Age not over 35 years - Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management or related field - Min 8 years' experience in hotelsales and event management and at least 3 year in management with proven achievement - Requirement of excellent sales, negotiation, strong intrapersonal skills with effectively communicate strategies, ideas, results and analytics to all levels of internal team. - Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills - Ability to work under own initiative with pro-active attitude. - Positive attitude and self-starting with commitment to achieve target. - Fluent spoken and written English. - Well versed in use of computers such as PowerPoint/ Excel and Hotel program. - Excellent time management and organizational skills - Ability to use initiative and multi-task - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines - Good negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
Job Summary
This position primarily handles complex events. Ensures a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. Supports and acts on behalf of the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in his/her absence. Serves as the event planner's primary contact (following turnover) on property and is responsible for his/her experience.
